"All I Can Say Is I'm Sorry" is the sixth episode of the third season of Invincible, and the twenty-second episode of the show overall.
Synopsis[]
A powerful new figure challenges Mark's idea of what's right and what's wrong. Rae approaches Rex with a big life decision.
Plot[]
A massive explosion devastates the city during the battle between Omni-Man and Mark, resulting in over 2,000 fatalities, including the loss of Scott’s sister and niece. In response, Scott—driven by a desire for revenge—gathers 3,000 signatures demanding a trial and investigation. When his pleas are ignored, he becomes a researcher at the Pentagon while secretly stalking Mark under the alias “Powerplex,” training with his wife to further develop his growing electrical powers.
Meanwhile, Mark and Eve supervise Oliver as he confronts the supervillain known as the Elephant—a former training partner under Nolan’s guidance—while Oliver recalls past camaraderie with Nolan, though the current conflict with Omni-Man complicates their memories.
Later at dinner, the discussion turns to the progress of Eve and Mark’s business, and Paul shares details of his real estate venture with Debbie, expressing uncertainty about his place within the group.

Shapesmith fights Powerplex.
That evening, Scott—operating as Powerplex—demands that Invincible confront him. With Mark occupied on a double date with Amber, Scott battles Shapesmith, one of the Guardians, mistakenly believing he has killed him; his partner later suggests that further opportunities for retribution may arise at the memorial.
Elsewhere, Rudy collaborates with Robot to develop a new belt for Amanda, successfully stabilizing her de-aging transformations. At the same time, Rex and Shrinking Rae contemplate leaving the team; while Rex hesitates due to his deep personal ties, Rae has already decided to depart.
Later, Powerplex appears at the memorial and confronts Invincible, only to face Eve instead. She swiftly overpowers him, and although the Guardians arrest him, he soon escapes. The incident prompts Mark to reflect on the heavy toll of casualties from his battles and to question Cecil’s attempts to shield them from the full consequences of their actions.

Becky and Jack's corpses.

Powerplex sees Invincible (offscreen)
Shortly thereafter, Mark meets with Donald Ferguson, who reveals a file on Powerplex that exposes the roots of Scott’s pain and anger. In a final bid to draw Mark out of hiding, Scott stages a kidnapping. The ensuing confrontation turns violent, and as Scott loses control, his electrical powers inadvertently cause the deaths of his wife and son.
Ultimately, Scott is captured, remaining bitter and vengeful as he endures custody while Mark reflects on painful memories and the profound impact of these events. The episode concludes with Angstrom Levy beginning to assemble a multiversal army of Mark clones on Earth, determined to exact his revenge on Invincible.

Trivia[]
"All I Can Say Is I'm Sorry" - Invincible, Invincible #59
- It is revealed that the woman and her daughter that Invincible tried to save in the season 1 finale was Jessica Duvall all along, there was actually a theory that she was related to Powerplex on reddit.
- This episode features Powerplex, a craven scientist who desires vengeance for Jessica Duvall.
- Powerplex is voiced by Aaron Paul, well known for roles in Need for Speed, Breaking Bad and Bojack Horseman. Alongside him is his wife Becky Duvall, played by Kate Mara, known for House of Cards and the Fantastic Four reboot film from 2015.
- Coincidently, Aaron Paul and Kate Mara played a similar husband and wife in Black Mirror.
- This episode includes an extended title card gag in which Powerplex repeatedly mentions "Invincible" during his speech. The title card appears for less than a second each time he is supposed to say the name. However, on the sixth appearance of the title card, it changes color in a normal way.
- Rex Splode's origins are revealed during a scene with Shrinking Rae, where he admits he was sold to the government, no doubt by Radcliffe himself as he previously mentioned in the third episode that was off to "another assignment".
- Monster Girl's curse has finally been cured, as Rudy has developed a belt to stabilize her transformation.
- There is a very disturbing scene after Powerplex electrocutes Invincible, where it cuts to Powerplex's wife and son burned corpses. This is the third time in which the series has killed a child character, however this marks the first time ever in the series where it is shown on screen.
- This is final time where Zazie Beetz voices Amber Bennett one last final time in "All I Can Say Is I'm Sorry" but we might see her in a cameo without her voice in "What Have I Done?.
- An end credits (that is prelude to the second worldwide event in the series known as the Invincible War), showcase the Evil Invincibles, currently 15 of them in total, two of them Capevincible and Sportvincible were previously seen in the season 2 finale, both responsible for the murder of Angstrom's family.
- The Villainous Movincihawk also appears, there are some hints that he might be the original Invincible from the second season's premiere.
- This episode marks the debut of several characters (in the present):
- A metatextual in-joke of this episode is that The Memoriam Plaques in Chicago have the names of various staff members involved in the production of the Invincible animated series. These names repeat themselves twice on each of the plaques.
- In the memorial scene, there is mention of 2,341 causalities from the Chicago Incident, this is reference to the original run of the comics series that ran from 2003 to 2018.
- The Elephant mentions a Dog similar references to Jake the Dog played by John Dimaggio who is the voice of The Elephant.
- The map of Invincible sightings is a map of downtown San Francisco.
