Anissa's Arrival is a small but semi-crucial event in Invincible, which leads to Mark Grayson and Amber Bennett separating for good after the Viltrumite soldier Anissa arrives on Earth for a reconnaissance mission.
Date Night[]
Anissa asserts dominance by greeting Mark with an ultimatum.
After saving Rex from Octoboss, Rex offers a whole week off of no super hero business allow Mark to have quality time with Amber. At night, Mark and Amber are finally able to get some actual peace, traveling all over Chicago and have fun at a dinner table, only to be interrupted by a Viltrumite, but not just any viltrumite, her name is Anissa, the strongest female Viltrumite, and she asserts dominance by threatening to snap Amber's neck in front of Mark, forcing him to meet up with her. Mark is forced to leave Amber once more, and meets with Anissa.
The Devil and Her Due[]

Anissa unleashes a barbaric sledgehammer upon Invincible.
High in Chicago, Anissa and Mark talk with Mark claiming to Anissa that he does not condone being a Viltrumite, despite the DNA, he doesn't consider part of their trait, while Anissa jests, and claims with his poor quality of assisting earth merely a waste, and with Viltrum's offers can assure a grander future. Their talk is interrupted when a Kaiju attacks a ship. Anissa accompanies Invincible hoping to see the son of one of Viltrum's greatest warriors in action. In her first front row seat, is disappointed, as Mark quickly loses control of the battle. Anissa ends the Kaiju with one blow, shocking Mark. Together they are able to take the ship to a island, where they discuss the Viltrum Empire's planned takeover of Earth, Mark denies it, as Earthlings must decide their fates themselves.
Anissa tries to beat Invincible into submission.
Anissa, enraged begins to furiously attack Mark, who is seriously outclassed. Cecil via earpiece tells Mark that he must accept the offer of joining their empire in order to buy time, yet Mark remains rebellious to the end and attempts to attack Anissa, but she launches a heavy right hook attack and sends him flying and then crashing down to the shore into a crater. Invincible is given one last to chance to prove his worth, but tempts Anissa, who lets him leave, admitting the plan was to not kill him, however a new agent will show, and Anissa offers a prayer for Mark's senses to hopefully change. As she leaves, Mark and Cecil talk, and Cecil tells Mark that he won't be blown off again.
Shattered Lovebirds[]
The end of their relationship.
Back at the dorms, a crawled up Amber waits for Mark, who arrives with a bruised black eye. Amber horrified by Anissa's might, has had enough and finally decides to end their relationship, after months being separated by Mark for saving other lives or serving Cecil, sobs and claims that she tried to mend well in Mark's perspective. Mark claims he could've killed Anissa if she did kill Amber. After breaking up with Amber, while contemplating everything that has happened, Invincible hears his phone and picks it up, expecting his mother, but instead the voice is a deep but a menacing man, asking if he will be coming to the house soon...
Mission Failed[]
Anissa defeats and captures Allen.
In an unknown region of space, Anissa reports back to Kregg on his ship, who alludes to failing to convince Invincible, claiming to him that he is corrupted like Nolan. An then alert blares and Allen who was around the area at the time gets into a fight with Anissa. However, he then shows himself to be far stronger than he was before and is able to outmatch Anissa who then attempts to capture him, but Allen allowed this to happen so as to locate and rescue Nolan.
Trivia[]
- Anissa is the third Viltrumite in attempt swaying Invincible into the empire and but the second to fail.
- This events leads to the Advent of Conquest, because of Mark rebelling against Anissa, she alludes that "he" will be the next agent to sway Mark.
