Background

Golden Age of Viltrum

Viltrumite Argall Era

Under Argall's reign and wisdom, Viltrum became an unrivalled paradise of strength in its history.

Little is understood about his private life prior to his assassination, yet as the head of Viltrum, Argall was regarded as an exceptionally wise leader by his people, guiding the Viltrumite race into a dominant dynasty for thousands of years. What was primarily recognized about him was his conviction in wisdom rather than brute strength, a trait that continues to be remembered by veteran followers from his era. Argall's bloodline was deemed superior, more pristine than that of other Viltrumites. As the emperor, his subjects built statues in his tribute; one statue showed him holding a book, representing his appreciation for wisdom rather than mere physical power. His offspring were hidden due to the fear of being killed.

The Great Betrayal

Argall is killed by Thaedus.

After ages of governing his people, Argall was assassinated by Thaedus, a fellow Viltrumite who acknowledged the barbaric methods of his kind and became the first Viltrumite to rebel against the Empire. Shortly after, Thaedus escaped from their home world to avoid being executed. The reality of the ruler's demise was meticulously concealed by his closest allies to mask the treachery of a fellow Viltrumite from the Empire, aiming to prevent this monumental, catastrophic betrayal from occurring again. Those aware of the reality discreetly categorized Thaedus as the Empire's most sought-after criminal, whereas Argall's descendants continued to be unaccounted for without explanation.

Thragg's Ascendancy

Great Purge

Argall's assassination triggered the Great Purge.

After his passing and in the absence of his heirs, the empire experienced a time of civil turmoil. In order to bring back stability among the people and try to rebuild their lost ideal civilization, the Viltrumites initiated a “purge of the weak” from their community, which came to be referred to as the Great Purge. Consequently, it gave rise to a completely new martial community of powerful, impressive fighters. One notable warrior was Thragg, who rose to be the most powerful Viltrumite to ever exist was selected to serve as the supreme leader of the Viltrum Empire as Grand Regent, tasked with avenging Argall's death and locating his missing true heir.
