Speak, Darkblood. Before I recall how I long to savor the gnashing of flesh in my putrid maw.

The Great Beast is a minor original villain in Invincible, debuting from Season 3 and onwards.

He is an ancient demon lord, who resides in Hell, and who longs to regain his status as the supreme ruler of his domain.

Appearance[]

The Great Beast appears to be of very low human height, has a red skin, a somewhat short tail, yellow sclera with white irises in his eyes, and gray hair featuring a white geometric-patterned shaved section. He appears to possess an elderly appearance.

Personality[]

The Great Beast exudes a frightening presence, as even the calm and formidable demon Damien Darkblood is afraid of the ancient being. He even warned that he would consume Darkblood if summoned for a personal reason.

History[]

Background[]

The Great Beast has been around for innumerable ages, and he previously governed Hell with a firm grip until he was toppled by mysterious methods. Since then, he has yearned to reclaim his position on the infernal throne.

Pact with Darkblood[]

The Great Beast forms a pact with Damien Darkblood.

He is summoned by Damien Darkblood, who has pledged to serve the Great Beast's agenda to restore himself to the infernal throne.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Magic: True to his nature, the Great Beast possesses demonic magic that is very likely stronger than most of his fellow demons.
    • Teleportation: The Great Beast appears capable of showing up anywhere without limitations. The sole indication of his nearing presence is his molting footprints.
      • Influential Presence: Being a demon lord, the Great Beast possesses the natural power to cause paranormal effects to the surrounding areas.
    • Immortality: As a demon, the Great Beast is immortal and therefore cannot die, at least not by any conventional means that would fatally harm mortals.

Sightings[]

Trivia[]

  • He is a non-comic character exclusively appearing in the animated series. He is supposed to be an antagonist for a show-exclusive storyline; this plot idea was originally intended for the comic series before it was scrapped by Robert Kirkman.
