Plot[]

The Guardians escaping from the Sequids
Moments after Eve's shield shatters, The Guardians attempt to delay the Sequids. Shapesmith saves Rudy and Eve after Rudy builds an EMP device. The Immortal quickly grabs the device but is interrupted by Invincible, who claims he is faster, stronger, and more capable. Immortal agrees and helps take down the mind-controlled Rus Livingston. However, they are discreetly controlled by the Sequids until they are saved once more by the EMP device. The Guardians quickly take Rus Livingston away from the Sequids and try to escape, but they are confronted by the Martian Emperor and Martian guards. The Martians express their gratitude to Invincible and the Guardians for saving them from the Sequids. However, they demand that Shapesmith, now labeled the "great betrayer" for being responsible for the Sequids merging with Rus, be turned over for punishment. When Invincible asks what the punishment is, the Emperor replies that it is execution.

Eve hugs Mark.
Invincible then responds, "I understand." They escape in a Martian ship, with Martians chasing after them. Atom Eve asks Shapesmith which button fires back, but he doesn’t know, as he had only been inside a ship like this once during a school trip when he was a kid. Invincible flies out of the ship into space, ramming into the Martian spaceships before returning to the stolen ship, where he is greeted by Eve in a hug. He shakes hands with Immortal, while Monster Girl asks if Rudy is okay. He admits that he was unable to free himself from the Sequid's control but now feels determined to help Monster Girl with her transformation. However, she ignores him.

Some King this Lizard is.
Back on Earth, King Lizard shoots Rex Splode and walks all over the corpses of the Lizard League and Dupli-Kate, claiming to the US Government of his demands. Then Rex is moving, still alive after getting shot in the skull. He tries to get his bearings back together but only notices King Lizard talking. He charges multiple attacks upon the king, rendering his face a grotesque, bloody pulp, and continues beating him senseless until the GDA arrives. Rex faints, and the agents inspect the corpse, but then notice something burst of Komodo Dragon... Shrinking Rae.
The Guardians crash-land the Martian ship in front of the Global Defense Agency and arrive to recover. Rus is brought into extensive care still unable to comprehend his situation. Meanwhile, the others notice the Immortal in a dark morgue room, staring a bloody cloth of Dupli-Kate. Mark notices Eve staring at doctors fixing Rex Splode, while another room shows Shrinking Rae under extensive care as well.

The Guardians, including Invincible and Atom Eve mourn the death of Dupli-Kate.
Much later, a funeral ensues, where Immortal places his hand on the casket of Dupli-Kate. He tells everyone how much Kate meant to him. After the funeral, Black Samson meets up with the Immortal, shedding a tear and asking why her death weighed on him so much as there were many others like her.
At the Grayson home, Oliver is now speaking, and Debbie is greeted by Cecil to ask of their services but still she is unfazed.
However, she then tries for a tutor, not interested in the first. Then another tutor arrives, April Howsam a member of the GDA, who is here to help Oliver; no conspiracy or being a messenger for Cecil, since she works for Debbie, Oliver speaks and calls Debbie, "Mama-boss".
Much later, Mark meets with Amber finally able to get some together. They talk about how college is what it was cracked up to be, and are more distant from each other than when they were in high school and try to find some way to fix their problems.

Rex and Mark talk.
In the hospital, Mark meets up with Rex, who are now good friends and talk about Amber. Eve also arrives and gives Rex books and also alludes to his boredom of Mark trying to keep Amber as a girlfriend.
Sometime later, Mark finds Donald with William and Rick, back from extensive surgery from the GDA. William and Rick decide to venture around the college, as Rick notices a fountain and a plaque listing the people mutilated by D.A. Sinclair. Rick still feels unwell and not like himself before being abducted by Sinclair, as William embraces him.
At Eve's home, she is greeted by Cecil, who offers her a position on the team, but declines. Then Amber also arrives.

Two conversations at the same time.
At Art Rosenbaum's Tailor Shoppe, Mark meets with Art to talk about "girlfriend problems", Art claims that, super powers or not, people will always have difficulties with dating. The same happens at Eve's tree house, as Mark, Art, Eve and Amber talk one another about dating a superhero. At times, they often feel like they are having the up most stress with or without hanging out with each other, leading to both Eve and Art claiming why are they not saying this to one another, Mark and Amber. Art also offers sympathy to Mark about Nolan's fate on Thraxa. Mark asks if he has certain books written by Nolan. He does and gives his collection to Mark.
At the Dorm Room in Upstate, Mark reads of the several books:

The Space Rider.
The Man with the Invincible Gun is narrated by Nolan Grayson, talking about the legendary Space Rider, venturing in space, chased by an army of aliens. The Rider is a wise but balanced warrior; to wield his gun, he must have a steady mind and controlled establishment. This is true when he controls his mind and fires a large blast at the unison alien army.

Nolan is suppressed by powerful red beasts!
Savage Planet, Savage Beasts, is told and shown of a younger Nolan Grayson venturing a desert planet with another Viltrumite colleague; they were sent on a mission to investigate the planet for the Viltrum Empire. The first thing they noticed was the planet's gravity; it was so dense and had such a strong pull that they could barely move. After finding no usable resources, they were ready to return home. However, a troop of red beast-looking dinosaurs called Rognarrs emerge to kill them. They devour Nolan's friend, and quickly subdued Nolan, putting his life in extreme danger. The Rognarrs were able to easily tear flesh from his bones, keep him pinned down, and leap immense distances to catch him whenever he attempted to fly away. In unison, the Rognarrs attempt to catch him, but he still escapes.
Mark comes with a delightful reaction, believing the books maybe the key to stopping the Viltrumite empire!
Cecil meets with The Immortal who tells to him to take him off, and meet with some of the Global Defense's best psychiatrists, but an enraged Immortal declines claiming that he doesn't want anyone poking in his head. Suddenly, Cecil gets an alert of an unknown individual arriving earth's atmosphere. The Immortal steps outside to confront it, leading to a brief scuffle. He initially mistook Allen for Omni-Man.

Invincible stops a misunderstanding.
Quickly, the Immortal arrives and meets with Allen the Alien, and the two get into a small fight, that is until Invincible arrives to stop the situation. Invincible claims Immortal is a bit on edge since Kate's death. Allen offers condolences and Immortal leaves.
Mark and Allen talk about what has transpired since their last meeting, even Nolan's imprisonment. Mark asks him if Nolan is really dead, as Allen admits that he could be alive, but finds it weird for the Viltrumites to keep warriors that don't follow the empire alive. Mark then admits to Allen that he has gotten bigger, to which Allen wants Mark to come with him to Talescria. Mark declines, saying he missed too much on Earth and has just came back from space already. However he does give Allen Nolan's books to research, and before Allen leaves, Mark claims he will be ready for the war when the time comes.
Elsewhere, at a frat party, showing Kyle with another student playing a college shots game, Amber is seen, trying to text Mark that she misses him, but she erases the text before even sending it.

Kregg grabs Nolan by the throat.
In space, Nolan is in a Viltrumite asteroid prison, with many other undisclosed prisoners. Kregg, along with two alien guards under Viltrum commands, comes to Nolan's quarter and orders him to return to the Viltrum army, but Nolan says nothing. Kregg then grabs Nolan by throat asking why or how 20 years on Earth changed him. Kregg leaves, claiming the care for earth and the people is very toxic and unstable for a high ranking Viltrumite like him.
Rus Livingston returns home and cleans up his apartment, berating Shapesmith for not only abandoning him on Mars, but also wrecking his home. He retches upon seeing old Chinese food, and throws up in his sink. Unfortunately, he notices something emerge from the liquid: A single Sequid from the spaceship from Mars once again attaches itself to him!

Angstrom preparing to visit someone.
In another universe, a Four-Armed-Tailor helps put on a suit for someone, revealing to be Angstrom, no longer wearing a dark cloak. He now transports himself to various other universes and back to the current one, looking at the city and claiming he feels good to be home.
