Background
Early Life

Kregg is among the survivors of the Great Purge.
Many eons ago, during the Argall era, Kregg was born on the planet Viltrum. From a very young age, like so many Viltrumite veterans, he held great adoration for his sovereign's wisdom. After Emperor Argall's death, he engaged in a bloody survival of the fittest called the Great Purge along with the rest of his race and was one of many to survive the civil war. Not long afterward, he joined the survivors in their universal expansion goals.
Due to his superb performance in countless missions, Kregg managed to work his way up to the rank of General in the Viltrum Army and became one of Grand Regent Thragg's most trusted subordinates, his right-hand man. Like many of his kind, Kregg bore great reverence toward "The Great Nolan," as he became one of the greatest, most successful Viltrumites to ever live. Furthermore, he came to fear his fellow veteran warrior, Conquest, the rabid, bloodthirsty warrior who became the second most powerful Viltrumite in history.
The Scourge Virus
Kregg loses his right eye as a result of the Scourge Virus.
During the Scourge Virus, Kregg was one of its rare survivors, but he lost his right eye in an accident and had surgery to replace his injury with a red cybernetic implant. While he endured because of his exceptionally robust immune system, Kregg and the other remaining survivors became weaker for a brief time.
Hunt for Nolan
Nolan's Capture
In 2023, upon learning from their mole inside the Coalition of Planets, that Nolan had abandoned his mission on Earth and that he had sired a hybrid heir with a human woman, Kregg tasked Thula, Vidor, and Lucan into tracking the traitor down, as well as confirming whether he truly had fathered a child with an Earth woman. In the aftermath of the Battle of Thraxa, which led to Nolan's capture, Kregg was summoned by Lucan's call and sent medics to transport him to a warship.
Recruiting Invincible

Kregg welcomes an injured Invincible into the Empire.
Kregg watches over the unconscious Invincible, Nolan's son, and after he finally awakens, Invincible tries to get answers regarding their plans for his father. However, Kregg orders him to remain silent and listen as he introduces himself to the young Viltrumite hybrid, praising him for his survival and for his performance against Thula, claiming he is worthy of being a soldier of the Empire. Even though he is injured, Invincible attempts to curse at him; in response, the general fiercely punches him before wiping the blood off his hand.

Kregg "recruits" and orders Invincible to prepare Earth to be part of the Viltrum Empire.
He informs Invincible that Nolan is to be executed for desertion and assigns him the mission of preparing Earth for conquest in Nolan's place. Kregg warns Invincible to persuade the humans to fully submit and surrender, reminding him that he is still aligned with Earth. Even if complete capitulation requires killing a few resisting humans; for if the Viltrumite armada arrives and finds him and/or the human species acting defiant, they will not hesitate to slaughter millions. They will check on his progress soon. Before leaving, Kregg makes it clear to Invisible that, unlike Nolan, the other Viltrumites did not change their minds and wishes him luck on his mission before departing.
Nolan's Execution
Standard Procedure

Kregg questions a hospitalized Nolan on his betrayal.
As promised, a few months after the Battle of Thraxa, General Kregg sent high-ranking soldier Anissa to Earth to check on the progress of Mark's mission. Meanwhile, back in the Viltrumite Prison, in Nolan's cell, the Viltrumite general tries to appeal to the deserter to redeem himself by rejoining the Empire, but he remains resolutely silent. Having lost all patience, Kregg reminds Nolan of all his achievements before grabbing him by the throat and bluntly asking how exactly a mere 20 years on Earth changed him entirely from the mighty patriotic warrior he used to be. But Nolan remained silent, annoying Kregg. He tossed him against a wall and left, cursing that Earth and its people are toxic if they could affect a Viltrumite like him, and that they too will pay for corrupting him.

Anissa reports back to Kregg on Invincible's ongoing resistance.
Not long afterward, while on his ship, Anissa returns from her survey mission, and Kregg is disappointed with the news of Mark's adamant resistance to the empire. Chastising Anissa for her failure, the two suddenly spot the Unopan Coalition soldier, Allen, flying near their ship. He sends her to kill him once and for all as a form of redemption. Upon learning that the Unopan has become strong enough to match a Viltrumite in strength, he is instead captured and is to be brought to the prison, where they intend to have their scientists discover the source of Allen's newfound strength.

Kregg verifies that Nolan has fully recovered.
Returning to the prison, the Viltrumite general had a couple of prison guards escort a restrained Allen to the prison's scientists to begin experimenting on him. While Kregg attended Nolan's first inspection test, and upon confirming that he had regained his full strength, he congratulated the deserter for being ready to face his end honorably by spitefully giving him several bruises before having him brought back to his cell. Kregg left the prison to resume his duties elsewhere.
Day of Execution
After a four-month delay, Kregg sent two Viltrumite soldiers to carry out Nolan's execution. However, the attempt failed as both Nolan and Allen managed to escape, nearly destroying the entire prison in the process. Shortly before the execution, and under the orders of Grand Regent Thragg, Kregg had dispatched Conquest to inspect the progress of Invincible's mission on Earth. He was also instructed to subjugate the entire planet if Invincible had failed or rebelled against the Empire.
