Mark Hamill is an American actor and voice actor who voices Art Rosenbaum in Invincible.
Hamill's career as an actor dates back to the 1970s, appearing in television shows and debuting in the movie industry with his breakthrough performance in 1977 as Luke Skywalker, the main protagonist of the science fantasy movie Star Wars. This role propelled him into the cultural zeitgeist spanning decades, having appeared in all first three films in the franchise, as well as in the more recent Disney brand Star Wars trilogy. Since then Hamill has had cameo appearances, both as himself and as Luke Skywalker, on The Simpsons, Freakazoid, 3rd Rock From the Sun and more.
After having appeared in several guest roles on popular shows such as The Cosby Show, General Hospital, The Partridge Family, The Muppet Show, Hamill's career started gearing towards playing villains, starting with his role as The Trickster/James Jesse on the superhero television series The Flash from 1991. A year later Hamill made a guest appearance on Batman: The Animated Series's episode Heart of Ice, wherein he played an unscrupulous business mogul Ferris Boyle, as part of the Mister Freeze revamp. The nuanced performance of Hamill's voice landed him the role as series regular The Joker. Since then Hamill has stared as Batman's archenemy on several television series, movies and video games: The New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Justice League, Justice League Action, the Arkham video games, Batman: The Killing Joke, Lego DC Super-Villains, DC Universe Online. Hamill followed up on his new type cast with Spider-Man villain Hobgoblin on the Spider-Man: The Animated Series, Maximus the Mad on The Fantastic Four animated series, Gargoyle from The Incredible Hulk animated series, all four being Marvel related animated shows from the 1990s. Since then he has also starred as super-villains such as The Red Skull on The Super-Hero Squad, Ulysses Klaw on Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Nightmare on Ultimate Spider-Man and Solomon Grundy on Justice League, the latter which he also starred as The Joker on two shared episodes.
Several non DC or Marvel related villainous roles include Matthew Callahan / Threshold on Gen¹³, Fire Lord Ozai on Avatar: The Last Airbender, Coloner Muska in the Diney dubbed version of the Ghibli Studios's Castle in the Sky, Skeleton King on Super-Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!, Judah in Joseph: King of Dreams, slasher icon Chucky the killer doll in the Child's Play reboot film, and most recently as Skeletor, He-Man's rival on Masters of the Universe Revelations.
On occasion Hamill has also starred in supporting roles, such as Reverend George on Village of the Damned from 1995, Johnny K. on SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron, Skips, the friendly immortal yeti groundskeeper on the animated series Regular Show, Turtle on My Friends Tigger and Pooh, and Professor James Arnold in Kingsman: The Secret Service.
