The Martians are an alien race that live on the planet Mars, a neighbor to the planet Earth. All of them are able to use shape-changing abilities to become anything they desire. The ruler of this alien race is The Emperor of Mars.

Sometime ago, Mars was invaded by parasitic, mind-controlling aliens known as the Sequids but the Martians powers rendered them unaffected by the Sequids. With no hosts to control, the Sequids were left under the complete control of the Martians who used them as their slaves. This changed, however, when a team of astronauts went to Mars with Invincible shadowing the mission

The Martians capture the astronauts and Invincible and bring them to the Emperor who aimed to kill the former to prevent the Sequids from unifying and rising up. Invincible and the astronauts escape but unbeknownst to any of them, a martian had replaced one of the astronauts who was then claimed by the Sequids which allowed them to invade Mars. With the enslaved astronaut, the Sequids conquered the Martians before proceeding to head towards Earth to do the same. However, the Sequids machinations were thwarted by Invincible and Guadians of the Globe, and the Martians were freed.
