Matt is a troubled youth and the stepson of Steve.
Matt used to steal and do drugs before Steve married Molly. He lived with his dad when Steve and Molly first got together. Matt used to run wild, and be a real asshole. But he stared down his demons, and he conquered them. Steve and Molly are very proud of the man he is becoming. Since Matt is obsessed with The Beatles and wanted to go visit Abbey Road and Apple Records in his Spring Break, Steve and Molly saved some money for a trip to London to show him how much they appreciate all his hard work.
In Here Goes Nothing, Matt and Steve visit the Buckingham Palace. Taking pictures of the palace, Matt says that its an impressive palace and ask who needs that many rooms. Steve tells him that it's not about room, it's about power and that the building has one purpose, to say: "I'm the Queen, and you are my subjects". Steve mentions that The Queen might look like an nice old lady, but she comes from a long line of tyrants who all thought they were better than the rest of us. Matt looks at the sky and saves Steve calling him dad, from the Burger Mart trash bag that Invincible had launched into the atmosphere days ago. Covered in ketchup, Matt says that he didn't know they had Burger Marts in the UK. Slowly breathing, Steve says to Matt "You called me Dad", shedding tears. They both hug.
In You Look Kinda Dead, he and a friend of his dig up The Immortal's grave. He is worried that his stepdad Steve could lose his job at The White House for this. His blond friend tells him to stop being a wuss and that they are doing something epic. He is asked if he has the schnapps. His friend’s plan was to dig The Immortal's grave to drink from his skull and get his powers. Matt tells him it's just a rumor, which his friend reply that he saw it on "Reddit". The Mauler Twins arrive at the gravesite and reply to them to not believe everything they read on the Internet.
