You can't hurt us, no matter how strong you are, cause you're... all... Alone!
—Multi-Paul to Invincible in "You're Not Laughing Now"

Paul Cha, also known as Multi-Paul, is a supervillain with the ability to duplicate himself. He is also Dupli-Kate's twin brother.

He is an elite assassin for the secret criminal organization, the Order.

Appearance[]

Paul Cha is a young Chinese man with short black hair and gray eyes. As Multi-Paul, he wears a gray and black suit with a number emblem. All clones of Multi-Paul have a number on their suit displaying their consecutive order to all other clones.

Personality[]

Unlike his sister, Multi-Paul became a criminal, working as an assassin for the Order. Despite his villainous ways, Paul still deeply cares about his sister, wishing to avenge her death by killing Rex Splode, whom he blames for failing to protect her. Paul does not show remorse for attempting to murder Rex even after Kate reveals herself to be alive.

Paul is shown to be far more vicious and reckless with his powers compared to Kate. Unlike his sister, who is more reserved with her powers due to the pain experienced should her duplicates die, Paul views his replicants as expendable and is desensitized to their deaths. Most famously shown when he overcrowds his prison cell, killing dozens of replicates to free himself, or sacrifices 8 replicants to break his restraining collar.

History[]

Background[]

Dupli-Kate and Multi-Paul's father develops mental breakdown once they starts constantly multiplying

Tsing Cha have a mental breakdown once Dupli-Kate and Multi-Paul started regularly multiplying.

Paul and Kate would at some point develop powers, allowing them to create copies of themselves. Their father, Tsing Cha, was left to take care of the twins, though he would eventually have a mental breakdown once they started regularly multiplying. After their father was taken away, Paul and Kate were placed into government care and underwent training to control their powers and learn combat.

Eventually though, Paul disapproved of the government and believed they were using him and his sister. He was able to escape their facility by using his power to leave behind a replicate in bed, though Kate did not come with him. In his later years, he joined a criminal organization known as the Order and became one of their top assassins.

Prison[]

Multi Paul Invincible ep 3

The Multi-Pauls in prison.

At some point, Paul was arrested by the Global Defense Agency, no doubt to his affiliations to the Order and their leader, Mister Liu.

Paul, is seen multiple times, when the Mauler Twins escaped twice, in-prisoned.

Avenging the former[]

When Dupli-Kate supposedly died, Multi-Paul blamed Rex Splode for this. Unbeknownst to him, she actually survived and was in hiding. By some unknown means, he was able to escape the GDA prison.

Invincible battles Multi-Paul

Invincible fights Multi-Paul.

Multi-Paul ambushed Rex Splode and Invincible while they attempted to stop Fightmaster and Dropkick from stealing the Declaration of Independence. Paul blamed Rex for Kate's death and overwhelmed Rex with his replicates in an attempt to beat Rex to death. Invincible pleaded with Paul to stop attacking Rex, but Paul continued attacking them until Dupli-Kate arrived and ordered Paul to stop. Paul was relieved to see his sister was alive, but showed no remorse for attempting to kill Rex. Invincible knocked Paul out before he could attack Rex and announced he would take Paul to prison.

Return to Prison[]

Elite Guard confronts Multi-Paul

Elite Guard places a collar on Multi-Paul to prevent him from duplicating himself.

Paul was sent to Payton Penitentiary for indirectly helping Fightmaster and Dropkick steal the Declaration of Independence and for attempting to kill Rex. Due to his position in the Order, Paul was confident Mister Liu would free him. On Liu's orders, Titan sent Kursk and Furnace to free Paul, but they were both defeated by Invincible and Oliver Grayson. Paul then attempted escaping on his own by overcrowding his cell with replicates and using their bodies to break down the door. Paul escaped his cell but he was captured by the guards, who put a collar on him that prevented him from replicating.

Kate visited Paul in prison and scolded him for his escape attempt as it undermined her efforts to release him. Paul remained confident the Order would free him. Kate stated The Order was using him as a weapon but Paul countered that the GDA was no better. Kate then revealed their father's birthday is this week and Paul acknowledged it. Kate pitied their father while Paul blamed him for giving them to the government. The two continue to argue over their affiliations until Kate leaves disappointed that she cannot change his mind. Paul reminds her once more the Order will rescue him.

Eventually, Mister Liu grows impatient with Titan's efforts to free Paul and decides to free Paul himself. Mister Liu unleashes his dragon form and attacks the prison. Paul uses the attack as a distraction to destroy his restraints and attempted to flee, however he was confronted by Atom Eve. Paul replicated himself and tried to escape, but Eve trapped each one of his replicates in concrete cells before leaving to help Invincible. However, unbeknownst to Eve, she missed one of Paul's replicates. With his freedom regained, Paul left a childhood paper doll in Kate's possessions to notify her that he escaped.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Self-Replication: Like his sister, Multi-Paul can create identical copies of himself, each capable of thinking, feeling, and acting on their own, and share a telepathic link with each other from the time they were formed to the time they are reabsorbed or die, meaning if one dies, they all feel it.
  • Superhuman Strength: Like his sister, Multi-Paul also has a level of enhanced strength, overpowering Rex Splode with physical blows.

Abilities[]

  • Expert Combatant: Paul has a diverse training background including hand-to-hand stand-up, clinch, ground fighting, martial arts, boxing, and wrestling.
  • High Pain Tolerance: Paul is extremely resilient to the pain of his replicants dying, so much so he has no issue sacrificing them. Such as when he endured the pain of over a dozen of them crushing themselves to death or broke a restraining collar by forcefully replicating till it broke.
  • Extreme Creativity: Compared to Dupli-kate, Multi-paul's tactics are much more complex. He also summons much more clones than Kate.

Weaknesses[]

  • Replication Blocking: Similar to Kate, Paul's ability to replicate requires sufficient physical space. If he is restrained, such as with a collar around his neck, he cannot duplicate, and thus the copy will not come into existence.
