The Multiverse is an endless diverse section of realities in Invincible. Angstrom Levy is widely considered to be the conduit of these endless realities.

Overview[]

The multiverse is clearly inspired by the many-worlds interpretation theory, housing multiple realities that branch off from an unseen universe. These changes in history range from meaningless and subtle nudges to extreme changes that make them practically unrecognizable from their parent universe.

It's stated and testified by Angstrom Levy that the vast majority of Invincible variants in the multiverse are evil tyrants, most commonly aligned with the Viltrum Empire of their world.[1] While the exact reason for this huge imbalance between evil and good variants is subject to speculation, it's at least implied that the conditions for an Invincible variant to remain heroes despite it all are dependent on several hyper-specific variables.

In the case of the mainstream universe, it's implied that Mark being a late bloomer and allowing Nolan to develop a fondness for human life and his family is the main reason for Mark turning out good.[2]

Multiversal Space-Time Desync

Angstrom transports Invincible from his neighborhood in the middle of the night to far up in the sky in broad daylight.

Despite branching off from the same universe, several alternate universes have a different flow of time compared to one another, as mentioned by Invincible during his time in the Zombieverse. By logical extension, spatial locations vary wildly from universe to universe; Angstrom Levy's powers simply allow him to traverse through the same space through the Multiverse,[1] yet various of his portals during his Assault on the Graysons led Invincible to a plethora of completely unrelated locations, including an alternate New York City.[3]

Although the terms "dimension" and "universe" are often used interchangeably, in the comics Robot actually explains that dimensional and multiversal travel are two separate, albeit similar, entities; meaning that universes house various dimensions within themselves. This is reinforced by the existence of Flaxancible, an Invincible variant that presumably lived in the Flaxan Dimension of his universe.

Notable Universes[]

In quick fashion, Omni Man kills Rudy and some of the resistance members, while Invincible is forced to paralyze Eve, somewhat still having a strange affection for her despite debilitated and will have her fixed when they're done. Mark and Nolan calmly tell the resistance that are now being sent to death, with Angstrom furious by the demand he makes a stand. Claiming that justice and destruction will soon come for the two, but his speech is cut short when Nolan tells Mark to quicken up the execution as he wasn't able to eat due to a riot in Bangkok. Then Angstrom is brought into a portal, the two ignore the suspicious portal and began their slaughter.
