Personality[]
As shown in his attempts to re acquire “Phase One” or recreate her, Erickson has displayed a sociopathic mindset that bordered on near complete lack of empathy or care for other human beings. As shown where he frequently dehumanized Eve and considered her nothing more than a “weapon” that belongs to him and not as a human being with a mind and will of her own. As shown, Erickson has gone to extreme and inhuman lengths in order to create superhuman weapons including forcefully reviving Polly and keeping her alive in a catatonic brain dead state to continue using her to “create” more human weapons in the hopes of replicating her oldest child.
Despite having the necessary intelligence and charisma to lead a covert government affiliated cell, Erickson’s obvious lack of empathy makes him almost entirely incapable of handling delicate situations. As shown where he was unable to predict how upsetting it would be for Eve to see her mother’s half dead state or him shooting Elias Brandyworth, when he was trying to convince her to work for him.
History[]
Steven Erickson was a part of the US Government, he was responsible for ordering the creation of Phase One, but the donor Polly, and Elias Brandyworth orchestrated an operation to prevent the unborn child for being used for the wrong reasons or being raised in a unhealthily environment.
One night, Brandyworth told Erickson that the facility was compromised, and left to a hospital, but Steven urged him to turn his vehicle around. In the end, Elias revealed his location and Steven along with an army of soldiers and another scientist followed suit. Erickson ordered a clean sweep to find the child but they were unsuccessful. They did, however, find a deceased Polly and brought her back to the facility. They brought her back to life but she was left mentally brain dead and her body was used to create new creations; Phases: 2, 3, 4, & 5. They were unsuccessful in recreating Phase One, and Brandyworth was missing for most of this.
Roughly a decade later, Erickson finally manages to catch a sight of Phase One known as Atom Eve, and summoned the other phases the next day to find and retrieve Atom Eve. Instead, the phases were killed but served there purposing in having Erickson find Atom Eve and Brandyworth, bringing them back to the facility, and reunited them with Polly. Elias horrified by this sinful act, lunged at Erickson who not only shot at Polly, but also Elias by accident. This enraged Atom Eve to the point where she broke the limits that Brandyworth gave her when she was still unborn, and bleached all memories or plans of Erickson and Rodgers using her for nefarious purposes. When he came, Erickson was confused of where he was.
Erickson's current whereabouts after these events remain unknown.
