Valerine (better known as Val) is a minor character in Invincible. She was once the best friend of Samantha Eve Wilkins and she never appears again, as she was one of the victims who would meet her demise in the Invincible War.

Background[]

Val was friends with Samantha when they were children. When Sam got into a private school, they would often meet in a tree house, discussing things, in a truth or dare manner. Several years later, they stopped being friends when Samantha learned of her potent abilities and introduced Val to her powers, and rearranging molecules. Val found the idea very crazed and that normal people do not act like that before running away.

Sam did call for her name once when she got off a bus, but she looked back at Sam with a distrustful face.

Legacy[]

In "What Have I Done?", Betsy Wilkins revealed that Valerie was among the many casualties of the Invincible War.

  • In the comics, Sam's mom mentions of a former friend of her daughter, who was similar to Val, and that also knew of her powers but their friendship following this, had ended. It was later confirmed that this former friend had later died during the fight with Omni-Man.
