By the time I was born, Viltrum was already the greatest empire in our galaxy. We decided to make it the only empire in our galaxy. Once I was old enough, I joined the war effort. It was hard, but I believe in our cause. Some species resisted, of course, but no one could withstand us for long. Soon, our empire encompassed thousands of planets, but as our territory grew, our forces were stretched thin, and our expansion stopped. We needed a better, more efficient way to conquer worlds. Our most trusted officers were each given a planet to weaken by themselves. I was one of those lucky few.

The Viltrum Empire's Expansion is an intergalactic crusade in which the Viltrumites launched a colonial campaign to expand their empire throughout the galaxy and ultimately across the entire known universe. This marked the dawn of the Thragg Era, the age of expansion for Viltrumite civilization.

Summary

After the bloody civil war, the Viltrumites, led by the newly appointed Grand Regent, initiated a colonial effort to extend their empire throughout the galaxy. One such realm was that of the Unopans, Unopa. Ultimately, their efforts extended across multiple galaxies in their relentless pursuit of universal control. Consequently, the Coalition of Planets was formed by Thaedus, the Great Betrayer of Viltrum, who assassinated the first Emperor. Upon the decimation caused by the Scourge Virus, the Empire began to rely on increasingly unconventional tactics for conquest. Several trusted agents were dispatched throughout the universe to chosen planets to infiltrate and sufficiently weaken them, facilitating a smooth takeover. Earth in the Milky Way was no exception, given that the planet's inhabitants are genetically similar to their own and would assist in replenishing their numbers via breeding facilities.

Numerous attempts were launched to take over Earth, all of which resulted in failure due to the intervention of the first-ever Viltrumite-Human hybrid, Invincible, and his notable human allies.

Other Realities

As per Angstrom Levy, in several dimensions he explored, he discovered that Omni-Man had successfully recruited Invincible into the Viltrum Empire's expansion plans, subsequently taking control of Earth; however, it remains unclear whether they proceeded to other worlds.

In an alternate universe where Omni-Man managed to persuade Invincible to agree to his conditions, they conquered the Earth, and when the planet rebelled, the duo obliterated numerous cities and heroes, such as Rex Splode, The Immortal, and Robot. Nevertheless, due to Mark's deep affection for Atom Eve, he chose to save her, despite her being paralyzed and receiving treatment.
