"What Have I Done?" is the seventh and penultimate episode of the third season of Invincible, and the twenty-third episode of the show overall.
Synopsis[]
Earth's greatest heroes join forces to fight an unimaginable threat.
Plot[]
Before...[]
In the post-credit scene of the previous episode, "All I Can Say Is I'm Sorry", Angstrom Levy reveals a part of his plan that involved 18 (only 15 were shown on-screen during that scene) Evil Invincible Variants of the mainstream universe's Invincible.
Originally, Invincible believed he killed Angstrom Levy. Unbeknownst to him, Levy was still barely alive, having enough to strength and consciousness to open a portal to another dimension where three mysterious technicians would save and fix him.
Many months later, Angstrom unleashed the evil Invincible Variants into the mainstream dimension, and had them carry out an ultimately devastating attack on Earth that lasted for three days, and would be known as the Invincible War.
Day I[]

The Evil Invincibles emerge from the portals.

Mohawk Mark decimates the Payton Pentientiary.
Angstrom begins his plan by opening portals and sending all the Alternate Invincibles through into the mainstream dimension, sending them along with 1 drone each so Angstrom could communicate with the Invincibles and watch all the destruction they would cause. He promises them anything they desire as long as they cause as much destruction possible, intending to make everyone in the world to see, fear, and hate Invincible. Meanwhile, Mark and Atom Eve are at Mark's home laying in a bed and talking about Mark's contemplations. Shortly, Eve receives a call from Payton Penitentiary, which is under attack by Movincihawk. He quickly flies through the facility, destroying it, and then he cynically mocks it for being a "prison."

Target Invincible decimates the Buckingham Palace and easily overwhelms British Knight.
At the same time, Stripevincible is easily overpowering a hero in front of the White House, calling him pathetic and coldly states he would not even keep him as a slave in his empire. Prisonincible is attacking Moscow, confronting a hero there while expressing that he could use a warm-up after spending a long time in Viltrumite Prison. Viltrumincible battles Wolf-Man, even revealing that he killed him once and taunts him by claiming he will do it again. In China, Capevincible is engaged in a battle with Best Tiger, and in Earth's atmosphere, Tech Jacket is fighting Mustachible.

Invincible vs... Invincible?
The mainline Invincible soon reaches Payton Penitnetiary where he found himself facing off against a variant of himself who was responsible for this. Mohawk Invincible at first thought Invincible was one of his allies only to find out that he is the Invincible of this universe. Invincible battles his variant, eventually defeating him by slamming his fists into his ears. However, Knockout, Kid Thor and Bolt show up, mistaking Invincible for one of the variants before attacking him. In the midst of the chaos, Powerplex escapes, at first happy to seeing other heroes beating up Invincible, only to find himself face to face with Movincihawk who proceeds to take out Powerplex easily. Eventually, Mohawk Invincible was beaten by the combined might of Invincible, Knockout, Bolt and Kid Thor to which Bolt assures Invincible they can take it from here. As Invincible joins Atom Eve to investigate this catastrophe, Knockout, Bolt and Kid Thor go to restrain Movincihawk only for him to recover and take them out off screen.
While the chaos ensues, Debbie, Oliver, April , Amber, Kyle, William and Rick witness the news broadcasting over how major cities around the world are attacked by multiple individuals resembling Invincible, with local and government forces being completely overwhelmed. Oliver then changes into his Kid Omni-Man costume, determined to help fight the evil duplicates to which Debbie tells him to not return to the house should any of the Alternate Marks come.
At the United States Pentagon, Cecil and Donald watched as a group of ReAnimen brutally beat Flaxancible to death. Cecil was injured, and Donald's skin was damaged from the fight. During this chaotic scene, Donald revealed that the team believed Flaxancible and others were from alternate dimensions and were evil variations of Mark, indicating there were a total of 18 of them, operating around the world. Fortunately, this variant was not as powerful as the Invincible from the main timeline. With the noisemaker damaged, Cecil ordered Donald to get the scientists to create more. However, Donald informed him that the engineering room had been destroyed. Concerned about the team's response, he asked how they would handle the situation. Cecil replied that they would "make calls to everyone" and enlist every hero available to deal with the alternate versions of Mark.
Day II[]
In continuation to the war in Day 1, Brit began ordering heroes into the transporters, heroes ranging from Two Punch Man, Business Baby, Throwbolt, Hunk and many others entering the transporter to battle the Evil Invincibles.
Kid Omni-Man lifts up a rubble to save a man before noticing someone he thought was Invincible. But as he got closer, Kid Omni-Man stops as he found himself face to face with Capvincible. Capvincible then takes down Kid Omni-Man, preparing to kill the boy with a piece of rubble until Kid Omni-Man recovers, flying underneath the variant's leg before punching him in the back. Cowl Invincible goes up to Kid Omni-Man, determined to punish him for that attack until Throwbolt and Bug-Eye arrive, assisting Oliver in fighting the Alternate Mark.

Invincible fights two more variants of himself.
Invincible and Atom Eve flies across the city as many buildings were destroyed and many civilians were dead. Eve talks to Mark about the devastating attack on Earth, and that the Alternate Marks are everywhere. She suggests they take out the variants one by one before finding out who was responsible for the entire attack, but Invincible had already realized Angstrom Levy was behind the attack. At that moment, Mark and Eve witness Hoodvincible battling a group of heroes. Though the heroes were able to draw blood, it wasn't enough as Hoodvincible easily takes them out by slamming the ground, expressing out that they are only a fraction of his power. Both Invincible and Atom Eve fly in and the pair overpowered Hoodvincible before Omnivincible joins in. Veil Invincible tells Omnivincible to leave rudely, but Omnivincible ignores his order and tells him to not embarrass himself, claiming swearing doesn't make him cool. Invincible tells Atom Eve to leave but she refuses, leaving him battling Hoodvincible while Omnivincible immediately attacks Eve. During the battle, she gets overwhelmed and Omnivincible snaps her leg and slams her into the ground. He lands infront of her, commenting that he always hated her, and just as he was going to stomp on her, Invincible saves her by throwing Hoodvincible at him, pushing them both away. Invincible holds up Atom Eve as Omnivincible gave him an ultimatium, stating that Invincible cannot save his girlfriend and fight off Hoodvincible and himself at the same time. However, Cecil unleashes a group of ReAnimen to attack the two variants, buying them time and tells Mark through a drone to bring Eve to the hospital for treatment. Donald then asks Cecil to send him out as he feel like he could do more out there than in here, to which Cecil reluctantly agrees and tell him to find Brit. Invincible then spent the rest of the war staying next to Atom Eve.
In Egypt, Nogogglesible crashes into the tomb of Ka-Hor, where the Spectre attempts to possess his body. The Immortal watches in confusion, but Lensless Invincible manages to break free and resumes his fight against the Immortal. Meanwhile, Ka-Hor panics because, without a host, he cannot survive outside his tomb. In a state of urgency, he crawls back inside into his tomb just as Riley exits, carrying a barely alive Jane, who is weak from being trapped in the tomb for so long. Riley comments that Ka-Hor's people must have cursed him for a reason and urges him to think about that. However, he expresses his relief at being rid of them and Riley calls Ka-Hor a "misogynistic jerk", and hope he enjoy bieng alone for eternity, before leaving. Riley reassures Jane as she carries her out of the temple, promising that she will live.
Capevincible was seen battling El Chupacabra, presumably after defeating Best Tiger off screen, where he reveals that he killed the Omni-Man in his dimension and would not be defeated by that hero.
In the desert, Nomaskible wrestles against the Hunk, easily pushing him across the sand before brutally killing him off-screen.
Business Baby and Big Mildew fight Stripevincible in Paris, using their teamwork to hold their own for a while before Business Baby got crushed by Big Mildew while fighting the Invincible variant, although he possibly may have survived.
Hairvincible was seen in a neighborhood, flying Demi-God into a house as another unnamed hero watched, and turned to look at the Invincible Variant hovering over him carrying a car. Hairvincible slammed the car down on the hero, killing him.

Lensless Mark wraps up the Guardians in the Globe in a messed up bow.
At the Guardians of the Globe base, Black Samson and Shapesmith lay injured while surrounded by many corpses of Dupli-Kate's clones. Nogogglescible laughs off attacks from The Immortal and Darkwing II, complimenting them. After throwing Immortal over his shoulder, Darkwing II drops from above only for Nogogglescible to grab him by the heel and slam him onto the ground, breaking his leg. Enraged by his teammate getting injured, The Immortal flies in and pummels Lensless Invincible, calling him a pale imitation of Invincible. However, Nogogglescible laughs off the blows and then proceeds to punch Immortal down. Lensless Invincible effortlessly kills two of Dupli-Kate's clones before wrestling with The Immortal, revealing that the Omni-Man in his world has killed many of the heroes and that Shapesmith wasn't even present there.

But Darkwing II returns the favor!
Nogogglescible proceeds to mock Shapesmith before getting punched by The Immortal. Enraged, Nogogglescible coldly tells The Immortal that he "ruined the moment" punching him down and stomping on top of him and keeping him down. Nogogglescible uses his foot to decapitate the Immortal before throwing his head to kill a Dupli-Kate clone, leaving it rolling next to an injured Dupli-Kate. Nogogglescible complains that he always ended his fights too quick which results in no torture, no screaming, no fun. Luckily, Darkwing II jumps in, sacrificing himself by tackling Nogogglescible into the Shadow-Verse. Both Black Samson and Shapesmith woke up and the team was soon patched up by the medics.
In the Teen Team Base, Gogglesvincible has defeated Rex Splode and Monster Girl, destroying through Robot's drones. Gogglesvincible soon found Robot's human body, but before he could finish him off, Bulletproof flew in and attacked Gogglesvincible. In retaliation, Gogglesvincible pummels Bulletproof. While Gogglesvincible and Bulletproof are fighting, Rudy rolls across the floor, only to find Amanda breathing but unconscious. Rex wakes up but finds himself bleeding from an open wound he has gotten earlier. Rudy urges Rex that they need to leave and get Amanda out of here just as Bulletproof was sent crashing backfirst by Gogglesvincible. Rex tells him that they are better off with someone who can fly before asking Bulletproof to get everyone out, assuring him that he got a plan. Bulletproof obediently flies Rudy and Amanda out, leaving Rex alone to face off the Alternate Mark. Gogglesvincible snarkily remarks that this stupid to which Rex Splode replies that everything about the fight is stupid. Rex Splode attempts to fight Gogglesvincible only to get overpowered by the variant. Gogglesvincible holds Rex up by the neck, telling him that all this was pointless like his life, Gogglesvincible then threateningly tells Rex that he is going to pop his head off and skin the others alive. Rex began holding onto his wound as Gogglesvincible monologues over how he is dumber than the Rex Splode of his world but Rex claims that he is the one who will take Gogglesvincible's life with his own. Rex then charges up his skeleton, performing a suicide bomb attack which killed Gogglesvincible at the price of his own life. Shrinking Rae, Bulletproof, Amanda, and Rudy witness in sadness.
Debbie continues to monitor the news for updates in Paul's house, having left her home which luckily, avoided her a confrontation with Movincihawk who intended to kill her.
William and Rick were seen running across the burning inferno, the campus of Upstate University having been burnt down by Target Invincible. A rubble nearly falls on William though luckily for him, Rick's enhanced strength from his cybernetic body saved him. The two were seen cowering.
Wolf-Man recovers from his fight with Viltrium Invincible, only to find himself standing in the midst of the destruction caused by Sinister Mark.
Sportvincible was killed off-screen and his corpse is seen pummeled in a field with crows picking at it.
Burly is seen holding a deceased Shrapnel, crying as he mourns over his teammate.
In the midst of all the destruction, Brit pulls out Donald who is alive but his body is badly damaged.
Bulletproofible neck was snapped by a group of ReAnimen.
Movincihawk flies through the Empire State Building, happily watching it crumble and continues to destroy New York.
Hairvincible was killed by Kid Omni-Man, Bug-Eye, and Throwbolt. Kid Omni-Man and Throwbolt assist an injured Bug-Eye as Kid Omni-Man looks back at the variant's corpse.
Powerplex is seen laughing and standing triumphant over the unrecognizably burnt corpse of an Invincible Variant.
In the Earth's atmosphere, Tech Jacket is seen looking down on Earth after killing Mustachible in battle before flying down to Earth.
Lightblueincible was only seen once when he flew in through the portals on day one of the war, and never appeared again with the surviving Invincible Variants, concluding he was killed off-screen sometime during the war.
Day III[]
Despite the deaths of most of the variants, the remaining eight variants float over the destroyed cities before being summoned by Angstrom Levy to meet over the Grayson's house to move on to Phase 2 of his plan.

Angstrom is pleased to see the survivors destroy Invincible's reputation.
The remaining eight variants meet over their old house with Omnivincible expressing out that he hates coming back to the house. However, Maskvincible disagrees, telling him that not all of them killed Debbie and he actually liked it the house and the memories it brought him. Movincihawk interrupts angrily and impatiently complains over what's taking Angstrom so long to show up to their meeting. Coincidentally Angstrom arrives right after, claiming he likes to make an entrance. Angstrom Levy proceeds to praise the Alternate Marks, telling that they not only destroyed Invincible's world but also destroyed him and that the attack would make the world think of the war when they remember his name.
Angstrom then orders the Alternate Marks to bring Invincible to him so that he can pay him back face to face, only for Capevincible and the other variants to refuse. with Capevincible mentioning that his plan has resulted in the Alternate Marks losing most of their members. Movincihawk snarkily that he does not care and that those variants were killed because they were weak. Stripevincible barges in, yelling at Angstrom that they had a deal with him for which they held up on their end, but Angstrom has yet to pay them. Maskvincible shares that Angstrom promised him that he would give him the main universe's Debbie Grayson to which Mohawk Mark obnoxiously makes fun of him for missing his mother. Dark Invincible tells him that they are all the same person and believes he's not the only one that misses their family and friends. The Alternate Marks share glances and Nomaskible does admits he misses the William of his dimension.

Angstrom double crosses Team Evil Invincible.
But Capevincible does not care, telling them that all of this would be pointless if they are all dead. He and the Alternate Marks faces Angstrom with Capevincible threatening him to give them their dimensions they want and that they would all kill him if he refused. Movincihawk insults Capevincible and explains to him that if they kill Angstrom Levy, they would be stuck in the main universe. So he proposed an alternative suggestion to torture Angstrom to which all the other variants agreed. They started floating towards him, but before any of the Alternate Invincibles could lay a finger on him, Angstrom Levy opens multiple portals, startling them long enough for him to make his accompanying drones tackle them into the portal and banish them into the Wasteland Dimension, the same one he trapped the mainstream Mark in before.

Capevincible swears to kill Angstrom, while Mohvincihawk, is rather annoyed as Angstrom can't hear him.
Angered at being banished to that dimension, Capevincible screams out at Angstrom that he is going to die, only for Movincihawk to annoyingly groan and insult Capevincible, telling him that Angstrom can't hear him.

Invincible fights Angstrom.
Angstrom Levy expresses out his disappointment. Though he was unsurprised that the Alternate Marks betrayed him, he did not expect they would do it sooner. It was then when Cecil teleported the Main Invincible to confront Angstrom, where Angstrom uses his drones to attack Invincible, sharing that he has surgeons ready to treat him in case Invincible is too much for him to handle. Invincible and Angstrom Levy continues their fight where Invincible dodges the portals which impresses Angstrom who continues to attack him with his drones. As Angstom Levy sends hordes of drones to push Invincible into a portal, he assures him that he will bring him back after he destroyed everything he loves. That angered Invincible to overpower the drones, closing in onto Angstrom Levy just as the portal opening villain's drones began to slowly deplete in numbers

Oliver urges Mark to end Angstrom for good.
Invincible finally gets ahold of Angstom Levy as Kid Omni-Man arrives, telling his brother to kill Angstrom Levy before he escapes, to make him pay for the lives he has destroyed and so that he could never hurt anyone again. Invincible hesitates and decides to do so. But before he could kill him, Angstrom Levy sent one more drone that struck Invincible in the face, making his lose grip and distract him long enough for Angstrom to open a portal. Mark reaches out as Angstrom almost passes through but grabs Angstrom by the arm. However the portal closes, slicing off Angstrom's arm, but he still got away.
Angstrom goes up to his Technicians, explaining that his plan failed, and he orders them to fix his wound so that he can bring all the Invincibles back and finish this. However, the Technicians refuse to respond, leaving Angstrom angrily lashing out at how their names reflects them as cold heartless monsters, even questioning on are they gonna let him bleed to death. The Technicians refuse to treat Angstrom Levy, approaching him. Angstrom tries to flee but the technology on his head emits a painful vibration, causing him to drop on his knees as the Technicians tells him that he made promises to them that he failed to deliver as his world has no value to them. The Technicians then tells Angstrom that he works for them now. The Technicians tells Angstrom that if he agrees, they will eventually treat his wound but if he refuses, his body and his powers would benefit their research.
End of the War[]
By the end of the war, many heroes were killed and injured, with Rex Splode, Business Baby, Hunk and Darkwing II being among the heroes killed in battle and Atom Eve, Dupli-Kate, Immortal, Shapesmith, Black Samson and Monster Girl being injured in their fights against the Alternate Marks.
A recovering Immortal, no longer decides withdraw from being a super hero for good, and begins a full fledged relationship with Kate.
Major cities around the world were reduced to ruins, with buildings and homes destroyed en masse. Cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Paris, Moscow, London, Tokyo, New Delhi, Seoul, and Sydney were leveled. Hundreds of thousands of lives, possibly millions were lost in the event, and the military was forced to transport as many survivors as possible to various locations. Invincible felt overwhelming guilt, knowing that Angstrom's survival and hatred towards him were the root causes of the chaos brought on by the variants. Powerplex attacks Invincible, but he and Kid Omni-Man incapacitate him, before being taken away, Powerplex blames Invincible for the devastation, and many of the heroes are uneasy around him. Overwhelmed with sadness, anger, guilt, and frustration, Invincible returned to visit Eve before meeting up with Cecil and the Guardians of the Globe. Cecil briefed everyone on the situation and asked Invincible to lead the Guardians, but he refused. As Cecil walked Invincible out of the building, he attempted to comfort him after everything that had happened, though Invincible still harbored distrust towards him.

As if things could get any worse...
Taking part in the clean up of the city, Invincible's small reprieve would not last long, as a giant shadow emerges over him. The viltrumite Conquest arrives, here to check on Invincible's progress on conquering the planet Earth. Invincible tells him he feels devastated and guilty of all the destruction of the war claiming it is a bad time to check in on his progress. He expresses the enraging urge to punch something hard, and so Conquest smiles, approves, and rushes toward him, and Invincible doing the same, resulting in the beginning of his fight with Conquest.

Trivia[]

"What Have I Done" - Cecil, Invincible #50
- The title of the episode is in reference to Invincible #50 during Cecil's feud with Mark where he's being bombarded by his ReAnimen, however the line is never said in the episode as the feud with Cecil and Mark took place in A Deal With The Devil
- It is likely that the line was chosen as the title to avoid spoilers from the Invincible War.
- This episode adapts the Invincible War storyline from the comic issues #60 and #61, showcasing all 18 Alternate Invincibles.
- This episode marks the debut of many previously unseen characters (in the present) cameos, those being:
- This episode marks the final Appearance of Rex Splode in the series played by Jason Mantzoukas, alongside others like The Hunk, Darkwing II (whose status remains unknown with a slight chance of surviving), and Shrapnel.
- Conquest was previously seen in a flashback during the Season 1 finale with several shots of his face and right arm being covered blood, this was meant to foreshadow his modern appearance in this episode.
- As to why he has a golden arm and face has scarring, see his article for more.
- The Newscaster from Seasons 1 & 2, returns broadcasting the current events of this episode.
- Atom Eve's friend Valerie from the Atom Eve special is confirmed to be deceased, however the Wilkins were unaware of the reason Val and Eve stopped seeing each other was because of her powers.
- Olga was said to have returned back to Moscow, and one of the Invincibles had decimated both Kremlin and Russia, it is currently unknown if Olga is alive or not.
- More of Donald's cybernetic body parts are seen and it is revealed he would still live if most of his body is gone, although greatly incapacitated.
- The song played after Rex dies is "When the Party is Over", by Billie Ellish.
- After the episode aired, some fans of the show like to compare Rex's suicide in season 3 to that of Gambit from X-Men '97 a year prior. It has been erroneously suggested that Rex's suicide in the show was modelled after Gambit's considering that Invincible #60, the issue featuring Rex's death, appeared in 2009, fifteen years before X-Men '97. Subsequently, Gambit was not part of the E is for Extinction comic from 2001 that inspired the '97 episode "Remember It", featuring Gambit's sacrifice. The comparisons between the two respective events ultimately boil down to simple coincidence.
