William Francis Clockwell is a supporting character in Invincible, debuting from Season 1 and onwards. He is Rick Sheridan's boyfriend.

He is Mark's best friend. William doesn't have superpowers, and while he loves that Mark does, William's the guy who keeps Mark grounded. Even while demanding, Mark will still take him for a flight downtown, or lift his car out of an impound lot, or zip over and grab him take-out from "that amazing place in Tokyo that does those little sushi-flower things".

William Clockwell has light brown hair styled with a middle part and wavy locks that curl slightly at the front. His eyebrows are moderately thick and well-defined. His eyes are medium-sized with. He has a straight nose and a slightly angular jawline. His lips are thin. His skin is fair and smooth. His body is lean, with a toned but not overly muscular build.

Personality[]

William is shown to be a supportive yet sarcastic individual. William's interactions are quite friendly although he is sad after Rick was taken in to the G.D.A. but was hopeful for his recovery, although William wondered if Rick would ever be himself again. During this time he blamed Mark saying if he'd helped earlier than Rick wouldn't have been turned into a ReAniman and said that Mark should've told Amber Bennett he was Invincible at the start which Mark says he wanted sympathy in which William replies saying that Mark can go cry to someone else. William is also showed to be somewhat oblivious as he tells Omni-Man that Mark was with Eve. Although, William did notice the blood on Nolan and got no response before he left. William was also completely smitten for Rick during and after their time at the lake together. William is also cares for Mark as in early Season 1 as he warns Mark not to get into a fight with Todd, who at the time, was harassing Amber because Mark would've gotten beaten up for standing up to Todd.

In Season 2, William is shown to be supportive and covers for Mark at Upstate University while he goes to Thraxa, convincing Mark to go because they both know what happened last time Mark refused to help someone. William is shown to be incredibly supportive to Rick and was scared when Rick was going to commit suicide and comforts Rick after his nightmare(s). William is, occasionally, also seen as slightly demanding as he gets Mark to take him for a flight downtown, or lift his car out of an impound lot, or zip over and grab him take-out.
