History[]
The story behind the Zombies is generally unknown. At one point in time, an unknown virus that reanimates its victims struck Earth, causing a potentially global zombie apocalypse.
Angstrom Levy had once encountered a dimension consumed by a zombie virus, later sending Invincible to it during their battle. Invincible managed to escape the zombies and find a group of survivors, whom he tells about Angstrom Levy and his current predicament before a portal to his world opens.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Undead Physiology: Zombies are, by definition, already dead. Because of that, they're incredibly less intelligent than the average human being, only able to articulate the word "meat" in presence of a healthy human. Zombies seem to obsess over eating meat of any kind.
- Superhuman Durability: As undead beings, Zombies are able to sustain heavy amounts of damage to their body. This includes mutilation, decaying, starvation, etc. It's likely that the only real way to fully kill one is to destroy the head.
- Superhuman Strength: Zombies are likely strong enough to rip off arms and legs from their human victims.
- Infection: It's implied that the Zombies are the result of a deadly saliva-spread virus that reanimates its victims, as evidenced by several of the Zombies having bite marks.

- It's possible that the Zombies are meant to represent the Walkers from Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic series.
- On Issue 81 of the Invincible comics, two sheriffs that resemble Rick Grimes and Shane Walsh appear investigating Dinosaurus's suit in King County, Georgia, place where AMC's The Walking Dead initially took place.
- In a post made by Ryan Ottley, a former artist for the Invincible comics, it is revealed that one of the original concepts for Sinister Invincible was a zombified version of Mark as an homage to the Marvel Zombies series, which Robert Kirkman wrote.[1]
